How to Choose Between Wisconsin Lake Wedding Venues
There are a LOT of beautiful Wisconsin Lake wedding venues. And that’s great. Until you’re 27 venue tours deep and have no idea what you’re actually looking for.
Before you fall in love with the view, I want you to ask a few practical questions.
What Is Your Guest Count?
This should be one of the first things you figure out.
A venue that comfortably accommodates 500 guests isn’t necessarily the best choice for 75 people and vice versa.
Don’t choose a venue based on its maximum capacity alone. Ask how the space actually feels at your guest count.
Is the Lake Part of the Ceremony?
Some venues give you a ceremony directly on the water. While others provide lake views from an indoor ballroom - and others offer terraces, patios, beaches, or waterfront photo opportunities and those are very different experiences.
Decide how important it is for you to actually get married beside the lake versus simply having lake views throughout the day.
What Happens If It Rains?
This is Wisconsin. You need a Plan B. And “we’re hoping it doesn’t rain” is not a Plan B. Ask exactly where your ceremony moves, who moves the chairs, how much time the flip takes, and whether your indoor space is large enough to comfortably accommodate your guests.
