There are plenty of beautiful Wisconsin Wedding resorts, but don’t choose one simply because the space looks pretty in photos. You need to think about the entire wedding experience, including where your guests will stay, how they’ll get around, what they’ll do between events, and how your wedding-day logistics will actually work.
Start by thinking about how many of your guests will realistically stay onsite. One of the biggest benefits of a resort wedding is having everyone close together, but if most of your guests are staying somewhere else, you’re not necessarily getting the full benefit of the resort experience.
You also need to ask exactly what the resort’s event team handles. Does the venue provide setup? Teardown? Tables and chairs? Linens? Catering? Bartenders? Ceremony setup? Room blocks? Getting-ready spaces? Day-of coordination? And most importantly, what are they not responsible for?
This is where couples sometimes misunderstand the role of a venue coordinator versus a wedding coordinator.
Your resort’s event team is responsible for making sure the resort delivers what you’ve contracted for. They’re managing the property, rooms, and venue-specific details. Your wedding coordinator is there to focus on you and your wedding.
We’re watching the timeline, communicating with your vendors, making sure your wedding party knows where they need to be, managing your personal décor and details and making sure your photographer gets the family members they need. We’re keeping the day moving when something takes longer than expected.
