Round Lake Farms Wedding Venue | Planners Guide

 Photos by Round Lake Farms

If you're looking for a Wisconsin wedding venue that gives you beautiful scenery without feeling like a typical barn venue, Round Lake Farms in Brillion, WI is one worth putting on your list. The property combines 400 acres of rolling Wisconsin countryside with views of Round Lake, a large event space, and plenty of room to create a wedding that feels elevated while still being relaxed and comfortable.

As a Wisconsin wedding coordinator, I pay attention to more than how a venue looks in photos. I'm thinking about how the day will actually flow, where guests will go, how the ceremony transitions into cocktail hour, where portraits can happen, and what options you have if the weather doesn't cooperate. Round Lake Farms gives you a lot of flexibility, which is one of the things I like most about it.

Why I Love Round Lake Farms

What I like about Round Lake Farms is that the property already has so much going for it. You have the lake, the rolling hills, the open landscape, and the architecture of the venue itself. You don't have to bring in a ton of décor to make the space feel special.

It also doesn't feel like you're walking into a traditional rustic barn and being expected to make that style work for your wedding. Round Lake Farms has more of an elevated Wisconsin feel. You can absolutely bring in natural wood, greenery, and softer details, but you could also take the design in a much more formal direction. The venue gives you room to make it your own instead of dictating what your wedding needs to look like.

The 12,000-square-foot event space also gives you plenty to work with throughout the day. There is a large gathering space, cocktail reception area, full-service bar, bridal suite, and outdoor areas overlooking the property.

What's Special About Weddings at Round Lake Farms?

For me, it's the combination of the setting and the venue itself. You get the feeling of being out in the Wisconsin countryside, without sacrificing the amenities and comfort of a more traditional event venue.

The lake is obviously a huge part of that. If you're getting married here, I would absolutely make sure your timeline leaves room to actually enjoy the property. The lake and surrounding hills aren't just something to look at while you're walking into the reception. They're part of what makes this venue worth choosing in the first place.

I also think Round Lake Farms works well for couples who want their guests to have a little more of an experience. There are different areas throughout the property instead of everyone spending the entire day in one room. That gives you opportunities to have cocktails in one area, dinner in another, and portraits or some downtime outside.

Ceremony and Reception Spaces

The outdoor ceremony setting overlooking Round Lake is probably the first thing most couples will notice. It's a beautiful backdrop without needing a complicated ceremony installation. The lake and landscape do most of the work for you.

Of course, I always tell couples to ask about the rain plan before they get too attached to an outdoor ceremony. Wisconsin weather is Wisconsin weather, and you don't want to be figuring out your backup plan on the morning of your wedding. The good thing about Round Lake Farms is that you do have substantial indoor space available if you need to make a change.

For the reception, the main gathering hall gives you plenty of room for a larger celebration. The venue has reported capacity for up to around 200 guests for a banquet-style setup and the fireplaces and windows looking out toward the property give the space some character without requiring you to completely transform it with décor.

There are also several other spaces throughout the property, which I like having for options as they allow the wedding day to have some movement.

Pro Tip: Round Lake Farms is Not Just a Wedding Venue

Round Lake Farms isn't only for weddings. If you're planning a bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, engagement party, or another celebration, the property hosts those events, too. So even if you're not planning a wedding, Round Lake Farms is worth keeping in mind for your next event.

What Type of Couple Will Love Round Lake Farms?

I think Round Lake Farms is a great fit for the couple who wants a Wisconsin wedding but doesn't necessarily want a rustic wedding.

If you love the idea of a lake, rolling hills, natural scenery, and an outdoor ceremony, but you also want a venue that feels polished and sophisticated, this could be a really good match. It's also a good option if you want your ceremony and reception in one location. Not having to transport your guests from one part of town to another makes the wedding day significantly easier from a logistics and timeline standpoint. And if food is important to you, that's another reason to take a closer look. Round Lake Farms handles its own food and beverage service and has an executive chef overseeing the culinary experience.

My Insider Tips for a Round Lake Farms Wedding

My biggest piece of advice would be don't ignore the property when you're building your timeline.

You chose Round Lake Farms because of the setting, so actually use it. Make time for portraits by the lake. Talk to your photographer about sunset portraits. Give your guests a chance to step outside and enjoy the property instead of keeping everyone inside for the entire reception.

I would also be intentional about your décor. The venue doesn't need to be covered from floor to ceiling with flowers. There is already so much visual interest here. I'd rather see a couple spend their money on a few really good design elements, lighting, and guest experience than try to completely change the space.

And please, please have a real weather plan. Know where the ceremony will happen, what needs to be moved, who is responsible for moving it, and how much time that will add to your timeline. Which are all details that a coordinator should be helping you figure out before the wedding day.

How I Would Transform Round Lake Farms

The fun part about this venue is that you can take it in a lot of different directions.

I would love to see a couple lean into a modern Wisconsin supper club look here. Deep greens, warm wood, candlelight, simple but beautiful florals, and a really good cocktail program would fit the property without making it feel overly rustic. But I could also see someone going completely the other direction and doing a formal wedding. Black-tie attire, elegant florals, long tables, lots of candlelight, and a more sophisticated color palette would be gorgeous against the natural landscape. Which is one of the many reasons why I love this venue. It gives you a foundation, but it doesn't completely dictate the design.

One Thing I'd Love to See Here

I'd love to see someone really build their entire guest experience around the property.

Instead of having everyone sit inside from the ceremony until the last song of the night, use the different spaces intentionally. Have cocktails outside if the weather allows, take portraits by the lake, bring everyone inside for dinner, sneak the couple away for sunset photos, and then bring everyone back together for dancing.

There's an opportunity here to make the wedding feel like more than just a reception. The property itself can become part of the experience.

And that's also where having a coordinator becomes really helpful. When you have multiple spaces, outdoor portraits, cocktail hour, dinner, and all of the other pieces happening throughout the day, somebody needs to be paying attention to where everyone is supposed to be and what needs to happen next… and that shouldn’t be you or your family.

Round Lake Farms Wedding Cost

Round Lake Farms does not currently publish wedding pricing on its website. Because wedding costs can vary based on your wedding date, guest count, food and beverage selections, and other event details, you'll need to contact the venue directly for current pricing and package information.

When you're comparing venues, I also recommend looking beyond the rental fee. Ask what is included with your venue rental, what you'll need to bring in separately, and whether catering, bar service, tables, chairs, linens, staffing, and other rentals are included or priced separately.

My biggest advice? Don't choose a venue based on the rental fee alone. A venue with a higher rental price can sometimes be the better value if it includes items you'd otherwise need to rent separately.

If you're considering Round Lake Farms, ask the venue for a complete proposal based on your wedding date and estimated guest count. That will give you a much more realistic picture of what you're actually going to spend.

Why a Coordinator Makes Sense Here

A venue coordinator and your wedding coordinator are not the same thing.

The venue team is there to run the venue. I'm there to run your wedding.

That means I'm looking at your entire timeline, communicating with your vendors, making sure the wedding party knows where they're supposed to be, keeping family photos moving, coordinating the ceremony, handling transitions, helping with setup, and dealing with the random problems that inevitably pop up.

Because they will.

Someone will be five minutes late. Someone won't know where they're supposed to go. A vendor will have a question. The timeline will shift. Something will need to be moved.

You shouldn't have to stop being a bride because something went wrong and that’s what I’m there for.

And at a venue like Round Lake Farms, where you have so many opportunities to use the property throughout the day, having someone focused on the logistics means you can actually enjoy those spaces instead of worrying about what's happening next.

Is Round Lake Farms the Right Venue for You?

If you're looking for a Wisconsin wedding venue with lake views, beautiful scenery, and a more elevated take on the rustic aesthetic, I would absolutely add Round Lake Farms to your venue tour list.

And when you tour it, don't just walk through the building. Walk the property. Look at the ceremony location, picture where your guests will go during cocktail hour, find the spots you'd want to use for portraits, and ask what happens if the weather doesn't cooperate. The building is only one part of what makes Round Lake Farms special. The lake, the landscape, and the way all of those spaces work together are what really make the venue worth considering.

I’m so glad you’re here!

I'm Erika, the owner and wedding coordinator behind Northwoods Event Services, and I help couples create wedding days that feel intentional, grounded, and completely their own.

I've always been the person who notices the details, makes the plan, and thinks three steps ahead. After years working in emergency services, staying calm when things get busy, anticipating needs, and finding solutions on the fly became second nature. As it turns out, those skills translate pretty perfectly to weddings.

As a wedding coordinator, my specialty is the behind-the-scenes pieces that make the pretty details actually work. The timeline, vendor communication, floor plan, setup, transitions, guest experience, weather backup plans, and the little details that can easily get overlooked when focused on designing the wedding you actually want.

Whether you're planning an intimate celebration or a wedding at a venue, my goal is to help you feel confident in the plan you've created - and then take ownership of the logistics when the wedding day arrives.

You shouldn't have to spend your wedding day wondering whether the tables are set, whether the vendors know where to go, or whether someone remembered to move the ceremony chairs. That's my job. Your job is to get married, enjoy your people, and actually experience the day you've spent so much time creating.
